Republican Pa. congressman won't seek reelection: report
By Josh Delk - 03/24/18 04:00 PM EDT

Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Ryan Costello will not seek reelection to his district in 2018 as he faces a difficult midterm race in a district with a growing Democratic voter base, City & State Pennsylvania reported Saturday.

Despite having filed this week to run in the GOP primary for the state's 6th District in May, Costello told state and local Republican officials that he plans to drop out in the weeks before then, unidentified sources told the news outlet.
Costello reportedly met with former 6th District Rep. Jim Gerlach (R) and the state GOP chairman about the decision Friday, which he said would avoid a costly defeat for the party in the coming months.

There have been a lot of mixed messages around here today.  Is this bad news or good news because it could hasten the end of the GOP?

Given the redistricting, he probably sees the writing on the wall and nobody likes to fight a losing battle.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Well, the  leftist PA Court/Supreme used their power to seize clear legislative powers in setting districts. And then Gerrymandered them to the regressive lefts/democrat advantage.

Have the marxist left ever not exercised raw power?

Interesting, it seems that the R's hold the Legislative branch in PA with more than sufficient numbers to impeach and remove every regressive leftist  judge on the PA Supreme Court. They should do so..the regressive left would not hesitate in such a position.

Then rerun the PA Supreme vote on that issue with the remaining two judges.

Bunch of 'Em did.

Like it or not, the dems own the Senate. R's only have 47 votes they can count on.

Stay the course thru midterms... then maybe a democrat/McCain/Colons/Murkowski pruf Senate with 58 votes.... and no Flakes.

Sunshine Patriots and all that.
