President Trump's Evangelical Friends Are the Worst Kind of Friend

Their friend has been banging a porn star while married and they're okay with that.

To review: President Trump had a sexual relationship with a porn star while his present wife was pregnant. President Trump had a sexual relationship outside his present marriage after his wife had given birth to their son.

The reaction from most of President Trump's evangelical friends is to either deny it or say, "So?"

This is how transactional the friendship is. President Trump delivers the goods and they give him cover. It is a user relationship that would make drug dealers proud. President Trump gives evangelicals their fix and they tell the cops the heroin came from someone else.

This coming from a Cruz supporter that doesn't care that he lied. Trumps sin was against his wife. Cruz's was against the American people.

I guess a sin only matters if you hate the person you are pointing your dirty finger at.

Don't forget your Phrenology:  The shape of Cruz' mouth indicates a habitual liar.  One of the big science magazines had an article on that back in '16.

You got that right. I love how self proclaimed Jesus Freaks can't help themselves from chastising and moralizing against anyone who doen't follow their exact doctrines. He is expert at pointing fingers in scorn, but real thin on doing things that make the world a better place.

I can't help wondering what the responses would have been if, back in the year, evangelicals similarly offered Bill Clinton a pass based on what was known
of his appetites even before he made it into the White House. Or would one of his adulterous paramours have had to be a former porn actress/director for
them to reject him?

He had "spiritual advisors" like Jess Jackson then, and I know how they were welcomed.

Okay, I'll be the dissenter here.  Erickson is right.

The guy is in seminary and is working on his sanctification.  What is he supposed to do, be like Jerry Falwell Jr. and that squirmy little weasel guy, Jeffress, who said that evangelicals don't care about a hooker sleeping with the great leader?  That's pretty much how he put it.  That kind of crap needs to be called out.

I live in the same town as Falwell and I know for a fact he's been trying to worm his way into the graces of powerful people for a long time.  He desperately wants a legacy like his father's.   Trump was his golden opportunity, and he's working it.  I can still visualize Jerry on the screen when Trump spoke at Liberty's graduation ceremony last year, scuttling hunchbacked around the front of the limousine to get in.

I didn't see anything in the article that wasn't the truth.
