President Trump fired his national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, Thursday and named John Bolton to succeed him, according to the White House.

Bolton is foolish to take the job.  Trump won't listen to him either. 

A shame.  Bolton is a sharp guy and would do his job well.  But he probably won't last long and his reputation will be in ruins.

Just last Friday......

No changes in White House personnel planned, Sanders says

Sanders said reports of McMaster's imminent firing are "not accurate," adding that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told White House staff that "no personnel changes at this time" are planned.

Well, the changes may not have been contemplated last Friday.  Seems to me Trump often acts on impulse. 

At times I feel for Sanders.  I don't know that she deliberately lies, at least not much of the time.  I just think it's not easy to represent such a chaotic administration.  She has a nearly impossible job and I believe she handles it a lot better than her predecessor.

Trump tweeted Thursday that McMaster has done "an outstanding job & will always remain my friend." He said Bolton will take over April 9.


Makes perfect sense to tweet this and keep him around for a few weeks, if he is your National Security advisor and leaking information.

None of this really matters to me anymore! **nononono*

As one of the biggest cheerleaders for Trump ... from the beginning, after this fiasco of a spending bill today, I can think of no excuse or reasoning for what looks like a cave-in to the American Hating Elitists!
(Of both parties!)

I say this in accepting his (Trump's) word that he is going to sign this monstrosity of a spending bill!

Bolton has backed Trump continuously over the past two years, so the usual bitter words are just pretty funny really. So, Bolton has this integrity but let's forget this other! Nonsense!

That said, Bolton is seen as being Neo-Conish; but history shows, he basically had nothing to do with the US going to Iraq, though, he was in the Bush administration. That's all Powell and the others.

Again, I'm glad ISIS has been turned back, having risen because of the ill-planned withdrawal of US troops under Obama. Detractors of Trump, have to point out little things, the thing is, is he getting the job done? Yes, with flying colors, especially in foreign affairs. North Korea somewhat quieted down, one can not take their eyes off of the road but pretty good. Not having gotten involved in any conflict haphazardly is another good sign.

I was not enthused with McMaster from the beginning.

McMaster is a protégé of defense secretary Mattis and disgraced former CIA director Gen. David Petraeus. 

He has strong support in the Senate from John McCain ( that for me, is a MINUS ).

He is regaled by such left-wing, partisan outlets as New York magazine and the Washington Post ( another minus ).

On CNN's Anderson Cooper, political commentator Bakari Sellers said, "As a Democrat you're honestly thankful that he's there."  (Triple minus ).

He has even been defended by David Brock's left-wing smear shop, Media Matters.  THESE ARE REASONS NOT LIKE HIM IN THAT POSITION.

McMaster has also been accused of benefiting from an inflated and, in at least one aspect, wildly inaccurate résumé as a military strategist.

CNN claims that McMaster has looked into a position at Stanford University's Hoover Institution (See here:http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1803/02/acd.02.html ). Farewell !!
