But if he only gets $1.whateverB, and then the Congress changes hands, he'll never get the rest of that funding. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Bingo! He's not getting his border well; it is not in budget and the bill in the past stipulated that no $$ would be included for FUTURE funding of the wall. The most recent monies allocated were for repair of the EXISTING wall. Not for any additional wall.
You are absolutely correct. If we lose the mid terms (which is a possibility) there is a very real and likely possibility that the wall will never be built. Trump and the GOPe can then blame the DEMS; which brings us back to the usual blame game that our incompetent Congress plays.
Trump's campaign promise of building the walln was to tap into disgruntled GOP voters. He merely saw a void and a way to run for the presidency and he ran with it. His campaign promise was made when he was clueless about how Congress operated and I don't think he fullyr ealized that he couldn't just arbitrarily build a wall without Congressional approval (yes I believe he was that naive.) He promised a wall, he promised full repeal of Bammycare and we have neither. Business as usual in D.C.
