Driver who told female police officer she should do a woman's job will be jailed if he fails to pay fine

A man has been convicted of sexism in a public place for the first time under a new law in Belgium.

A court in Brussels fined him €3,000 for insulting a police officer because of her gender, Le Soir reported.



The Belgian case involved a driver who was stopped for breaking the highway code. The young man – who has not been identified – insulted the police officer because of her gender, the court heard.

He was reported to have said she would be better off doing a job “adapted to women”, in a scene witnessed by several other people.

The driver was found guilty of three charges: contempt of a police officer, making threats and sexist remarks in public, and a serious violation of another person’s dignity because of her gender.

He was warned that if he failed to pay the fine, a prison term of a month would be imposed.

“This is the first time we have used this law to prosecute someone,” said Gilles Blondeau, spokesman for the public prosecutor's office. “It is quite common for people arrested by the police to insult and threaten. But to personally blame a policewoman because of her sex is different.

“It was a good case to test this law: a concrete and very clear case, with many witnesses. This is obviously not always the case.”

The YouTube comic, whose channel has close to 130,000 subscribers, filmed the pug named Buddha watching recordings of Adolf Hitler, lifting his paw on hearing the command ‘Sieg Heil’, and responding to a phrase the Scottish courts deemed “grossly offensive” — and therefore illegal under hate speech laws.

Sometimes the truth is hard to hear, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be heard.  It's stupid, and puts them and others in danger, to have underqualified people in most jobs.

I was listening to a lecture this morning on YT by Prof. Amy Wax the UPenn law prof. who got into trouble by stating that the way people raised their kids before the sixties was the best way to raise children...i.e. two parent homes, working hard, staying out of trouble, and unwed females not getting pregnant during their teens.
Naturally, she was excoriated by all the usual suspects for  not being sensitive to the New Age paradigms. 
Anyway, during her discourse before the American Enterprise Institute she has been saddened over the last decades by the incurious minds of her new students, most of whom don't read anything except pop music and entertainment rags.
She said the girls are far worse than boys as far as having interest in anything from the past. She said almost all of her students who are polymaths or who are interested in historical facts are with few exceptions  males. She further stated that, in her opinion, most males know far more about a great variety of things than most females. Wax said the only thing females know, on average,  more about than males is fashion.
She said the most important thing for young people today (especially females)  is not whether you have a curious mind and seek information about a multitude of things worth knowing.
According to Prof. Wax the most important thing for these people is whether or not you're  a nice person or a meanie.
 There is no interest in the past for a great many of these students....they're not interested in icky, dead, white males who oppressed everybody who wasn't a white male. What can they learn from those terrible dead white males is their attitude.
These are the people who will be making laws in the not too distant future. They are the people who are for socialism and throwing people into prison for not being nice to somebody else.

Yipes, that don't sound too good.

That's why -- like it or not -- a breakup is coming in this country, between those who will be like this, and those who want to "hold to traditional (i.e., "white male Christian") beliefs.

It may be peaceful -- or it may be not.
But... it's coming.
