It may be time to leave the world’s biggest social network

If you’ve finally given up on the world’s most popular social media network and want to get rid of Facebook, it’s not too complicated to remove yourself from the service. But before you delete all of those pictures, posts, and Likes, you should download your personal information from Facebook first.

Your Facebook archives contain just about all of the pertinent information related to your account, including your photos, active sessions, chat history, IP addresses, facial recognition data, and which ads you clicked, just to name a few. That’s a ton of personal information that you should probably maintain access to. To download your archive, go to “Settings” and click “Download a copy of your Facebook data” at the bottom of General Account Settings, and then click “Start My Archive.”

Facebook, where "users" (mistakenly) think they are the customer, but they are actually the product.

Can the word "users" also be equated with drug addiction behavior?

The pusher gives you some for seemingly "free," to get you using and coming back for more.

Then the Zucker fellow sells your life, patterns, preferences, etc.

What I find funny is that the chattering classes are pointing to this data mining as the reason FB is in trouble. Fact is numbers have been going down for months because one of the founders has been on tour telling everyone that the algos for the site will ruin your brain. Having a guy who was instrumental in building something tell you that he and his kids don't use it because it is dangerous is a big deal.

Have you seen their stock today?  Down 4-4.5%.  Meanwhile, the broader market is up.  Zuck's probably more worried about that than losing subscribers.
