And he's sparing two signatories to an agreement that he thinks is bad and needs to be rewritten...interesting.  :pondering:

I know while you were busy talking about me ... the President signed the order on tariffs @bolobaby   :smokin:

Talking about you? No, no. You have it all wrong. I was *laughing* at you.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

Well, he didn't exactly hit the brakes on tariffs after all. Response from the Heritage Foundation via Twitter:

Tariffs are a tax increase on American workers and their families. The president’s decision today to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports is disappointing, economically regressive and counterproductive.
4:17 PM - 8 Mar 2018

Further, arguments that tariffs are necessary for national security reasons are not compelling. Tariffs do not protect the ‘forgotten men and women’ of this country or bring back jobs. Rather, they could cost current and future American jobs and increase costs on consumer goods.

The @Heritage Foundation stands for an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish.

President Trump has done so much. We need him to do the right thing now:

Scrap the tariffs and return his focus to policies that will grow and invigorate the economy to the benefit of all Americans.

LATEST NEWS: President Donald Trump has signed proclamations imposing tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum.

Trump says a 25 percent tariff will be added to steel and a 10 percent tariff will apply to aluminum.

The president was surrounded by steel and aluminum workers as he explained his decision at a White House ceremony.  ...

He says Canada and Mexico could be exempted based on the outcome of talks to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement.   Full story

Well...get ready for price increases on just about everything that uses those materials.

Hope everyone enjoyed those tax cuts while they lasted.

I'm less than thrilled about it and it would have been a lot worse with Canada and Mexico included.  What will be interesting is how other nations involved respond.  He made this announcement with 'heartland' people, but their agriculture neighbors can be affected by counter moves.  Also, the initial market reaction was not favorable.
