Most here recognize your expertise on Texas politics and appreciate your posts..don't listen to the few who can't be civil when they disagree..when they act like that their opinions don't matter.

If one subtracts the difference in the numbers in 2014, we had 804,547 votes more.
The difference in numbers in 2018, is 505,875 in our favor; we are down 300,000 from 2014.  We are not gaining, we are losing our advantage.  That is reality.  To play the game of politics and win, one must know the rules.  Election numbers mean something, every number is a vote, a real person.

It is now recorded on every county voter list, which party primary the voter chose.  One can go back and see how that voter voted, which party, in the 2014 primary.  Did that voter switch parties?  It is also recorded if this was the first primary in which that voter voted as there will be no record of this voter in past primaries.  County chairmen/parties will be evaluating their voter list.  Every election is a county election; that is the grassroots of elections.

Texas became a much brighter shade of red last night overall.  I haven't yet determined exactly how much darker the red is but it's a lot!

Yessssss!!!

If you don't agree you don't have to be nasty about it..just state your opinion

For some reason, Frank doesn't seem to bother me,but that was a little uncalled for, I guess.

Why are you wasting time with facts, logic, and truth on Trump supporters?  They don't want to hear it, and they will punish you for your wrong-think.

At least you didn't say 'orange.'  This is about Ted Cruz in Texas, not about Trump at all.

I appreciate your post too Vicki.  I wish I could say "stay strong," or "eventually people will recognize how much you care about America."  Despite how overwhelmed you were by the elections of 1994, or how disillusioned you were by the impeachment hearing in 1998, or your elation at the 2000 elections, or your anger over 9-11, or your feeling about anything since...you will always be the worst scum to infect the party of Trump.  You were always part of the problem.

not to me, but to Trump and his sycophants.  For them, you are worthy of ridicule and that is what they do best.  I am sorry and I wish it wasn't so.

On the other hand they were never worth your support.   They were never "good" people.

Why in this universe has this thread become about Trump supporters?  Good Grief!

I am a Texan too, even though I live in Kihei, and I know a little sumpin' sumpin' as well.

The dems are totally desperate right now and well-funded with Soros money.  They managed to drum up enough opposition in Alabama to elect a planned parenthood loving democrat.

I think this is about Ted Cruz who is very popular in Texas and the whole United States.

Incumbent Ted Cruz won the Republican primary in Texas Tuesday night for the U.S. Senate.

Cruz will face off against Irish-American — not Hispanic at all — Rep. Robert O’Rourke in November.

Ted Cruz @tedcruz

I am deeply grateful that Republicans in Texas turned out and put their confidence in me to continue leading the fight for Texas values in Washington. Now let's get to work to #KeepTexasRed:

You cannot tell how any voter voted from a voter list!  You can however use voter list data for very useful purposes and there are people out there who make a business out of collecting and analyzing it.  Over time it can be used to separate real Republicans from the fake variety.

For example, one current Texas State Representative never voted in a Republican primary in his life until he was a candidate in one. Voted in every democrat primary prior to that from the time he was eligible to vote.

I haven't voted in anything other than a Republican primary since 1972.

So you are finally admitting you were a Communist sympathizer prior to 1972? You probably passed out subversive literature for Dolph Briscoe.

Nope!  Never been a Communist sympathizer ever.  And Dolph Briscoe was to the right of most current day Republicans.

I wouldn't doubt that in the least. His was the only old Rat Gov name that came to mind other than Connolly and upon further research he was Gov after 1972.

In a Texas Primary election, separate lists are kept for Republicans and Democrats, so you do know if a voter voted in the Republican Primary or the Democrat primary.  That is what I was addressing. !!!

Yes, when I voted last week they didn't stamp my card with either democrat or republican and I asked about it.  She said they know which primary I voted in.

@Sanguine

Back when I was working just with just our county voter list, we had to pay for the list.  A few years after that, the state party got all the county lists from the Secretary of State and put them on the internet.  They gave me a password that gave me access to the counties I needed as I worked with district candidates, not just county candidates, and I didn't have to pay for them.  Shortly after that, the Republican National Party got the list of all counties in the US, then National Republican candidates, presidential candidates, could get those lists free.

Please lay off Dolph.  He was the best governor Texas ever had as he did absolutely nothing and let us be.  He was also too rich to be paid off.

Both are qualifications for excellence from politicians.

I sure wish one could "Opt Out" of that voting list. Every election I get flooded with mailings and non-stop phone calls.
