MSNBC anchors are claiming that teachers armed with handguns would be unable to stop a school shooter because rifles shoot “three times faster.”

Anchor Lawrence O’Donnell said on his show Thursday night that “a bullet fired from an AR-15 travels 3x faster than one from a handgun…and yet the president and the NRA think giving teachers guns will stop a school shooter.”

I wonder if he would be willing to demonstrate how to properly dodge a bullet fired from handgun.  Then maybe the chicken shits that shirked their duty that day wouldn't have to be such chicken shits.

Some one posted on twitter that O'Donnell's argument is that government (Police/FBI/HLS) bullets travel faster than civilian owned bullets. So, their handguns can stop him, but a teacher's handgun could not.

A well-trained LEO, security guard or even teacher with a handgun most certainly will stop a pimply-faced know-nothing kid wildly waving a rifle around.

Or at the very least, have a better chance than without the handgun. A rifle may indeed be more powerful than a handgun, but a handgun is far, far more powerful than a stapler.
