A White House schedule says Trump will host students and teachers Wednesday. He also will meet with state and local officials on school safety on Thursday.

The White House did not immediately answer questions about what students would be attending the session.

Students who survived the shooting in Parkland that left 17 dead have focused their anger on the president, urging him and other elected officials to do something about gun violence.

My biggest concern is his propensity to agree with people in the moment, whether what they're saying makes sense, or not.  If this is open to the media, it has potential campaign ads written all over it for the midterms.  It could be disastrous.

Well you know that's gonna happen but he has to do something, this isn't going away this time.

Agreed.  However, I strongly disagree with him meeting with high school students. They've been brought up in the liberal school system and trying to defend 2nd amendment rights is futile.  That's not what they want to hear; they want to hear how he is going to curb gun violence VIA stopping the right to own guns.

What he needs to do is first and foremost come down heavily on the FBI and assign a 'team of experts' to come up with a nationwide plan to implement further safety measures in our schools; armed security guards, fencing, video monitors, etc., and then make a public announcement of those plans. In no way should he be debating our rights under the 2nd amendment; that's just a disaster waiting to happen!

This is exactly what I'm expecting to happen.  I hope he has a good coach and follows instructions.

Yes, he should listen ... but he should also ask questions of them including their thoughts on how the FBI/Law enforcement and school administrators may have failed them in preventing this.
