Autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder share molecular traits, study finds

Date:
    February 8, 2018
Source:
University of California - Los Angeles
Summary:
Most medical conditions are largely defined by their physical symptoms. Psychiatric illnesses, however, are largely defined by a person's behavior. A new study challenges that distinction, identifying many shared -- and distinct -- patterns of gene expression in the brains of people with autism, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The data hint at potential targets that may one day lead to new treatment approaches.

As I knew from the git go, this Study is Bullshit.

1: it's UCLA

"Researchers analyzed the RNA in 700 tissue samples from the brains of deceased subjects who had autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder or alcohol abuse disorder, comparing them to samples from brains without psychiatric disorders.

The molecular pathology showed significant overlap between distinct disorders, such as autism and schizophrenia, but also specificity, with major depression showing molecular changes not seen in the other disorders."

They've already been Diagnosed. They are deceased. The 2 together means they've been 'Treated' for these disorders, for decades.

Treatment is Psychiatric Drugs/and or High Voltage Brain Shocks.

Anti-Psychotic Drugs are the preferred, State Approved medication menu Drugs for heavy duty Diagnoses like the above.

OF COURSE the molecular pathology of people who've been poisoned with these drugs, Daily, For Years, is going to exhibit similar evidences.

The Drugs are a meat grinder.

Just for laughs, here's a non-physically destructive 'Treatment' that's Better for mental health than anything Psychiatry has come up with yet.

Study Finds Heavy Metal Music Beneficial To Mental Health

https://www.madinamerica.com/2018/02/study-finds-heavy-metal-music-beneficial-mental-health/

[excerpt]

A new study, presenting an unconventional exploration of heavy metal music as it impacts psychosocial functioning, was recently published in the Journal of Community Psychology. The researchers report that heavy metal music can be a catalyst for improved socioemotional functioning for bullied or marginalized youth. They find that for some fans metal music may play a protective role against mental health issues in the context of adverse environmental factors.

Heavy metal artists have long been met with criticism by concerned parents and politicians. Metalheads (heavy metal fans) have likewise fallen victim to undeserved suspicion. “A common perception is that metal music and culture either leads to mental health issues or attracts people with mental health issues,” the authors write.

Through qualitative analysis of unstructured interviews with self-proclaimed metalheads in Australia, researchers Paula Rowe and Bernard Guerin of the University of South Australia recently examined the function of metal music in the identity development, social orientation, and emotional experiences of teen listeners.  A number of studies have connected music exposure to positive outcomes in childhood, adolescence, and later adult life, although metal and emotional (“emo” music) have been subjected to less scientific scrutiny.

So much for All of these Psychiatric Quack, Brain and Whole Body Butchers and Their BS expertise.
