Schumer, Pelosi rip Trump's decision to block Dem memo
By Max Greenwood - 02/09/18 09:03 PM EST

Democratic congressional leaders are blasting President Trump's decision to block the release of a Democratic memo aimed at rebutting a GOP document alleging surveillance abuses against the Trump campaign.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) both accused Trump of applying a double standard by approving the release of the GOP memo but not the Democratic one.

“The President’s double standard when it comes to transparency is appalling," Schumer said in a statement.

"The rationale for releasing the Nunes memo, transparency, vanishes when it could show information that’s harmful to him. Millions of Americans are asking one simple question: what is he hiding?”

The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, whereupon they would blame the White House for lack of transparency. Told them to re-do and send back in proper form!

Well, we knew that's what would happen with this idiotic memo.

Schumer and Pelosi rip Trump for not approving memo.  Okay, I am shocked.

Oh well. Release it yourselves guys instead of trying to stick it on the President. It was nothing but hollow political gotcha anyway.

They’re all over the place on this.  Adam Schiff was on TV in 2013 calling for more transparency in the FISA process.  He said this on RT, of all places.  A couple weeks ago, he’s against the Nunes memo release.  Now he tries to equivocate between FISA and FISC.

Richard Blumenthal was all for an open process in 2013.  He referred to the Nunes memo as the darkest days of McCarthyism.

Least credible is Patrick Leahy, who resigned from Senate Intel after admitting he had leaked info.

I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

I would like to see them release it. If it really does contain classified information, then I'd like to see them prosecuted.
