The Zuckers were spoofing previous serious movies. If you watch the first Airport movie with Dean Martin you can see a lot of scenes that ended up in Airplane!

Male announcer: The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone.

Female announcer: No, the white zone is for loading of passengers and there is no stopping in a RED zone.

Male announcer: The red zone has always been for loading and unloading of passengers. There's never stopping in a white zone.

Female announcer: Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for stopping!

Male announcer: Listen Betty, don't start up with your white zone shit again.

Funniest movie ever.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

As pointed out they did use some scenes from Airport and also the man who wrote Zero Hour also wrote Airport. And Airplane! used both but the side by side comparison with Zero Hour is very interesting and quite funny.

Be sure to write "Zero Hour!" with the exclamation point.  Zero Hour is different.

It's funny...I posted this same clip at another site last week, but didn't think to post it here.  I love it!

You don't know much. That is obvious.  No need to constantly demonstrate it, therefore.

Then step away from the mirror.

That one brain cell of yours is really fighting hard to remain dominant.

I don't need to fight for dominance -- I'm not a pathetic little worm like you (or, perhaps a grub...it's hard to tell).

...Don't know whether to suggest you have another drink or put down the bottle, but it doesn't matter to me; you're the one making a fool of yourself, Grub!  Have a great night...and watch out for the hangover!

Really!

Grub has an obsession with me, insisting on posting irrelevant stuff on thread after thread, trying to get my attention, evidently in hopes I'll let him service me.  But I'm not into that sort of things with animals, so he needs to just get a life.
