Nunes accuses Dems of lying about role of dossier in surveillance warrant

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) accused Democrats of lying Friday in claiming that a court was made aware of the partisan origins of an opposition research dossier used in part to obtain a warrant to surveil a former Trump campaign adviser.

Nunes's comments came hours after Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, which he chairs, released a memo alleging that the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) misused their authority to obtain a surveillance warrant on Carter Page, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign.

In an interview on Fox News on Friday night, Nunes insisted that the dossier, which alleges ties between Trump campaign associates and Moscow, was presented as a significant piece of evidence in the FBI's application for a surveillance warrant.

Something's odd about the exchange between 7:00 and 8:15.  Baier asks him specifically if the FISA judge was informed about the political connection of the dossier.  He definitively says no and accuses Eric Swalwell of lying about it.  Nunes goes on to explain the scenario and says he doesn't 'believe it happened at all.'

So which is it?  Does he not believe it or does he actually know it's not true?

Then Bret is interviewing the wrong guy.  Gowdy said this would be embarrassing for Schiff.  I'd like to hear what he has to say about what he discovered first hand - especially if there's a quote from McCabe.
