Nevertheless, the left's position or positions on sex is largely schizophrenic. On one hand many on the left are basically amoral hedonists for whom anything goes. If it's an orifice, stick something in it seems to be their motto.
On the other hand you have the feminists for whom sex, specifically male sexual habits, is something to be severely restricted.
The term "the male gaze" is something originated or popularized by radical feminists referring to the male custom of looking at women with sexual intent. The feminists reallly believe they can pass laws or train men not to look at women in a sexual matter.
Well good luck with that. Beneath this radical feminist belief is the idea that both sexes are exactly equal, our mental processes are exactly the same and only societal pressure makes males think and act differently.
As has been proven by numerous scientific experiments, males and females are hardwired differently.
This should be obvious by the recent revelations of sexual oppression committed by liberal males on female subordinates.
Most of the men recently accused of sexually oppressing women are hard liberals fully in line with the feminist agenda.
So why did they treat their female underlings like trash? Because men are hardwired to see women as sexual objects, that's why. And many men in positions of power are going to mistreat their female underlings. That is not an excuse for those acts, that is just reality. Some people are bad actors who are going to mistreat their underlings whether the underlings are male or female and sometimes it will be sexual and sometimes just a power trip. And they should be punished for their bad actions.
It's not an excuse for treating women shabbily, but any attempts to stop men from looking at women with sexual intent are doomed to failure. You pass laws to stop men from mistreating women knowing that you can't stop them from thinking about it. If by mistreating you mean any thoughts about sexual associations, you will be highly unsuccessful. Men must be trained to outwardly treat women with respect. But what goes on inside the male brain cannot be restricted or contained by laws. If radical feminists/leftists really believe they can change human nature, they are in for a huge disappointment.
