Report reveals cheeky text about FBI 'secret society' that sparked rampant speculation

Amid speculation of an possible anti-Trump “secret society” within the Federal Bureau of Investigation amid the release of text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, it appears the reference was made in a tongue-in-cheek fashion.

ABC News reported late Wednesday that it had obtained a copy of one text message, sent the day after President Trump won the 2016 election, which mentions the “secret society."

“Are you even going to give out your calendars? Seems kind of depressing. Maybe it should just be the first meeting of the secret society,” Page wrote.

Another text message sent from Strzok the day after the election said “Omg I am so depressed.”

That would be the spin that I would expect the swamp to put on the text.  Is it true?  Maybe, maybe not.

But on Wednesday, Johnson admitted he actually was uncertain what the informant meant concerning the off-site gatherings. He also said that the committee’s attention would be on “the Clinton email scandal.”



The secret society got to him.  They took him to their meeting room at the local coffee shop - The Starbucks Chamber - and set him straight on how things would go if he pursued it further.

How to lose credibility while posting:

Yes, this is ABC spin.

There was this report from March 2017. It was troublesome at the time (and from a dubious source), but I didn't attach a label of "secret society" at the time and it seems to have greater merit now:

Excellent post as yours @kidd always seem to be.  The only reason I returned to this thread is that I saw you had posted to it and I'm glad I did  as I now recall that March 2017 report as well.
