Why Would Americans Trust AG Sessions to Drain the Swamp Now? His Actions to Date Show He is the Swamp! More and More Calls for His Removal!

CNN reported “Sessions’ agenda at DOJ reflects Trump’s, despite rocky relationship” – what a joke! Sessions has been beyond disappointing.  He’s aligned himself with the deep state.

CNN recently listed Jeff Sessions’ accomplishments as US Attorney General as follows –

Hoft is a moron. So if he is the swamp, then isn't Trump the swamp by extension? After all, why did Trump appoint him?

Because Sessions was the first Senator of high enough standing to get onboard with Donaldus Minimus, during the 2016 campaigns, and got his attorney generalship as a reward. Donaldus Minimus subsequently regretted the appointment---after Sessions recused himself from the Russia probe, never mind that Sessions made clear enough, during his confirmation hearings, that  he would do just that if such a probe arose. And, never mind that it would be far more edifying for Donaldus Minimus to have regretted appointing Mr. Sessions on grounds of his intolerable positions on asset forfeiture and the war on drugs.

My theory on Session:

He recused himself, since that was required by law and by legal practice ethics. Many fault him for recusal, out of ignorance.

He seems to be in over his head; The Peter Principle appears to be demonstrated. Nice man, good Senator.

He is merely serving out his time. Firing him too soon would look bad.

So he plods on, taking up some causes. Often appears to be sedated or sleepwalking.

I can accept the recusal, but what I can't accept is that he left Rosenstein in charge.

I think Sessions is just a standard everyday coward. He is afraid to get involved with anything. So he hides in his office, peaking out once in a while like a gopher looking for coyotes or hawks, and then scurries back to his office and locks the door.

What I mean is, I'm not so sure that his behavior is nefarious. He could just be scared. The job is too big for him.

It does seem clear that he is in the wrong job. We don't need a timid frightened old man as AG. We need someone who is ready to be a little more bold. We need someone who is willing to step up and take charge.

If Sessions remains as AG for another year, then a year from now will be exactly the same as today. Nothing will have happened. Nothing will have changed. Status quo all the way.

I am pretty much with you on him. Professional ethics (even laws) forced him to recuse. How broad that must be is open for discussion.

And Trump backed off from firing him, or forcing his resignation until it can be done "normally," not as a political crisis. When will Sessions want more time with family?

Sessions is a very unfunny joke.   After eight years of Obama's concept of "justice".... Sessions is the cherry on top of the crap sundae.   And.... considering how Trump promised he would only hire "the best"....

well... you get the drift.

I have another take:  Sessions is just plain naive when it comes to people and politics.

Case in point:

But other Republicans said they would vote for Mr. Holder despite his acknowledged mistakes. Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, for example, said he was sure that Mr. Holder would be “a responsible legal officer and not a politician.”
