Sen. Rand Paul Calls for ‘Guaranteed Week’ of ‘Open Amendments’ on Immigration Bill

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told CNN’s “State of the Union with Jake Tapper” on on Sunday that the answer to the government shutdown is the GOP promising to give Democrats a week’s debate on immigration followed by a vote on an immigration bill “sometime in the next month in the House and the Senate.”

He said that when he presented the plan to the Senate, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) asked for guaranteed passage “on a must pass bill.”
