At what point does a US born citizen lose his status as a citizen? When he supports ISIS? Tries to travel to a country that is a terrorist hotspot? Is there any standard for stripping such traitors of their citizenship?

Nope.  Citizenship cannot be stripped.

I think that is only true for Naturalized Citizens, Natural Born Americans must revoke their citizenship.

Natural born citizens can't be stripped of their citizenship.   Only naturalized citizens.
