White House: Hawaii false alarm 'purely a state exercise'
By Julia Manchester - 01/13/18 03:03 PM EST

The White House said Saturday that President Trump was briefed on the false emergency alert that went out in Hawaii warning of an incoming ballistic missile threat.

"The President has been briefed on the state of Hawaii's emergency management exercise. This was purely a state exercise," White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters said in a statement.

Individuals in Hawaii received a mobile alert earlier in the day, reading "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL."

Hawaii officials such as Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) and the state's Emergency Management Agency quickly tweeted that the message was a false alarm.

Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that they are going to try to lay this at Trump’s door?  I hope I’m just being cynical.

Great for tourism.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Great for tourism.

Tourism is the biggest industry here.  My son and DIL are due in early March ... they are still coming as far as I know.

You can't be too cynical but this is being explained as someone pushing a wrong button during a shift change.

Sorry, but there should be more checks and balances to keep that from happening.  A lot of people here really panicked.

Why send out a warning even if true all it can do is panic people there is nothing that can be done. I would rather be gone in a flash than sitting around waiting for it to happen. Governments are crazy they hide what shouldn't be hidden and tell us things that should be hidden.

Hawaii emergency officials confirmed Saturday that an alert warning that a ballistic missile was inbound to the island was a mistake.

Earlier Saturday, Hawaiian citizens reported receiving an emergency alert on their phone that stated: “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

House Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, tweeted in regard to the alert: “HAWAII – THIS IS A FALSE ALARM. THERE IS NO INCOMING MISSILE TO HAWAII. I HAVE CONFIRMED WITH OFFICIALS THERE IS NO INCOMING MISSILE.” ...

And then there was the unhinged tweet by Jamie Lee Curtis.   The left is just proving and confirming how insane most of us already knew them to be.  If you really wanted to blame anyone... you could blame Bill Clinton for N. Korea being nuked up... and blame Obama for Iran (who is helping N. Korea) getting nuked up.

Lol!  Cute.

Now.... if the rich state of Hawaii would just put some of that cash into building fallout or other disaster shelters for their tax-paying citizens... (dreaming, of course).

A "button" that important ought to have a "cover" over it to guard against false activations.

Just who was the employee who pushed it?
And... was it a mistake?
Or... was it something else?

Hawaii is far from being a rich state.  And the Native Hawaiians here are still up in arms about not getting their fair share.  They were supposed to get 20% of certain income when Hawaii accepted Statehood.  Of course, they haven't gotten it and a lot of Natives are homeless or been forced to leave the Islands to make a living.

Cost of living is higher here than in any other state.  Wages have not kept pace at all.

Hawaii has a lot ... great climate, fantastic scenery, but certainly not money.

Jamie Lee Curtis has gone totally insane.  She has joined hundreds of her Hollywood friends in the institution.

Does anyone think that Fat Boy would be less evil and crazy if Trump was nice to him?

Like California, Hawaii is now a one-party rule state. The dems run virtually everything, when something goes wrong it is due to their incompetence.

Democrat curriculum/criteria: feelings, diversity, emotions, pseudo-science
