A rousing speech by Oprah Winfrey touching on politics and the #MeToo movement provided a jolt of excitement to Democrats who believe she could reenergize the party and defeat Donald Trump in 2020.

Within minutes of her speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Winfrey was trending on social media. The next day, the possibility of a “President Winfrey” dominated the headlines and the cable news cycles.

While Winfrey has previously ruled out a political bid, her camp on Monday did little to temper the talk.

I once talked to a woman who was a huge fan of hers,and even flew to Chicago to see her show after getting tickets. You could elect a tailor's dummy to Congress or the US Senate if you could make it mobile and hide a speaker in it to broadcast that it was going to give everybody everything,and it wasn't going to cost them anything.

We really,REALLY need to change our voter eligibility requirements back to what it used to be. You have to be a property owner and prove yourself to be literate before you can even register to vote. Of course that's not going to happen because it would destroy the Dim Party,and they just aren't going to allow their slaves to revolt. They bought and paid for those votes with your money,so they are going to keep them.

Originally in this country the RIGHT to vote was based on property ownership because property owners were the only ones that paid taxes,and the common thought was only the people that paid to support the system had any right to vote to determine how the system was ran and what it did.

I guess we could expand that these days to people who are able to show WD-2's and proof of citizenship,but that is where I would draw the line. If you are not a citizen you don't get to vote and/or you have never paid any income taxes,you don't get to vote,period.

Come to think of it,that's not good enough because someone could work one month and then qualify. Because of this,I would demand a CURRENT  W-2 or other certified earnings and taxes statement,or proof of retirement before anyone would be allowed to vote.
