This is a story from 2015 in the Daily Mail; but it is so curious. Out in Western Mexico, Sinaloa, they have these very opulent mausoleums for the narco-traffickers and drug lords. It's almost beyond belief.  Check the picture.

At the end of lives dedicated to violence, crime and the pursuit of wealth, Mexico's most famous drug lords rest in peace in custom-built mausoleums: buildings which cost more than an average family home in the crime-ridden capital city of Sinaloa.

Gaudy and provocative even in death, the 'narcos' of Culiacan have built their own tombs, equipped with 24-hour air conditioning, wi-fi, bedrooms, kitchens, home cinemas and other comforts for their families who come to visit their remains.

Mexico's largest and most powerful mafia, the Sinaloa Cartel, is based in the state capital Culiacan, and the town's cemeteries tell the stories of the drug lords' immense wealth.

I read another article on this, this one might even have better pictures. Even back before this hellish narco-war broke out, well before this, people told me about the "pandillos" (gangs) in Mexico.

There would still be problems there, the drug war is a spin to the way things are down there and the drug war undoubtedly makes it a lot worse, better armed sides.

But there whole system and especially what it use to be with a corrupt government means the system just needs to be overhauled. Despite all of this, the economy seems to be steadily improving. There might be some areas where it isn't too bad such as the city of Puebla.

We need to secure the border and intercept and interdict the drugs from wherever they are coming from, Mexico, Afghanistan, Asia and so on.

More pictures here, the insides of these places are plush, fancy chapels, paintings of the deceased, etc.

It really shows how rich these people are, to be doing stuff like this.

We know, a lot of the common Mexican citizenry, in contrast, is poor.
