I can explain it. It isn't especially complex, to be honest.

We are facing an almost literal horde of barbarians at the gates of our Republic. People who want to destroy nearly everything that makes this country special and a joyous place to live for ALL Americans. At times like this, we don't all have to agree on every point and issue...that would require a mindless obedience that contradicts what conservatism and freedom embody...but we do need to find ways to unite and stand together against the battering rams of media, DNC, and deep state. What the NT's are doing, is tearing us apart...into little miniature conservative factions intent primarily on tearing each other down. The old axiom still holds true...if only as metaphor..."if we cannot hang together we shall surely hang separately".

And it doesn't bother me if people don't like a politician...I could care less about "like". People on our side MUST give honest criticism...but I do care when Republicans tear each other apart and make it easy for the Dems to crush us in an upcoming electoral cycle. So I care, because I believe the kind of unreasoned rancor we see aimed at the President...and at fellow Republicans...from the remnant NT'rs...is increasing the danger that we hand government back to the Leftists.
Full agreement. Practical, common sense and results. You stated the main, most important points.

I’m really enjoying watching Haley at the UN, but that doesn’t translate into “she should be president!”

Conservatives need to back off from allowing emotion to carry them away.  Haley seems tough...I like that.  But otherwise I’m uninformed about her.  I’d have to research her record before I started pushing her for president.

I've been hearing this my whole life, as you probably have.  Every time somebody does something semi-stupendous, people line up to endorse them for President.  I'm used to it and ignore it.  In Haley's case, she could be a compelling candidate, not because of her UN speeches, but because she was a Governor.  Arguments about her running should center around that experience, not the UN Ambassador experience.

I wouldn't mind seeing her advance to Secretary of State someday.

Based on just her UN stuff, you're right. Cumulatively her resume is pretty solid. So is her body....

I agree.  I wouldn’t mind seeing her go on up the ladder.  Who knows, maybe one day she might decide to run for president.  If so, she’ll need to be evaluated on more than a few episodes of kicking butt at the UN.

I have yet to see ANY woman in American politics that I'd feel comfortable about as president.

Not one. That includes Ms. Haley.

If you don't like that, too bad.

@Mesaclone

But look at what you said.  You're blaming that small remnant--your own term---for dividing the country and bringing it to the verge of ruin.  It doesn't work that way.

Trump was divisive during the campaign and he continues to be.  He isn't going to change, no one expected him to.  He's too old for that.  But his supporters want to cast blame on everyone and everything but him.  That won't work, either.

The bottom line is that you do want to enforce a certain obedience.  You want people to stop criticizing the president.  But that's not American.

Unite, stand together against the "battering rams"....those are nice words, but I have yet to see an explanation of what they mean, specifically.  And how they apply to us here.  How is criticism on an internet forum harming Trump and his agenda?  I've asked it many times but never received an answer.

The real answer, of course, is that it can't and won't.  It's simply that people don't like hearing it.

Trump voters kept saying "let's get him elected and we'll hold his feet to the fire."  Well, that happened.  He won.  The people did their part; now it's up to him and his administration.

The job of holding feet to fire is never ending.  There can be no rest.  That's why I automatically dislike politicians, because I'll never trust any of them.  If I start to liking them, I'm in danger of letting my guard down.

If I ran for an office someday, I wouldn't trust myself.  I'm that cynical.  (Bet you already knew that...lol)

I'm all for criticizing Trump and any other part of Govt where and when such criticisms are due.

It's the mindless, unsupported vitriol we get here from obvious DU sappers and other such kindergarten Trolls that chap my hide.

'Members' who never post Jack to back up their venomous 'Trump is a this and Trump is a That' garbage.

That, to me, is Battering Ram and I would prefer to let it go In One Ear and OutUEndo, at least until, one of these chuck-heads makes it personal.

Telling me and everyone else here that my perspective is stupid, dumbass, or just plain wrong without Bothering to READ The Information I linked for them is a Terrific way to get me to respond negatively.

It's happened before, far more times than I can count, and it will happen again.

My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

The NT-ers keep denying that they are what they obviously are.

I'm thinking of a recent thread praising the passage of the Tax Bill.

The NT-ers refused to give Trump credit ... any credit... giving it all to the formerly despised Congress.

At the same time, they criticize Trump because some of his really good ideas get shot down by that same cowardly congress.

They are not fair and they will never convince me they are.

   Merry Christmas

Christmas eve here.

You're probably right about me.  I do have a bad habit of letting some people get to me.

If I put any more people on ignore, I'll just see blank screens everywhere.

I just cannot stand negative, depressing people.  There are more than a "few" here and they are prolific posters.

But, well, Merry Christmas @corbe.  Love ya, babe.
