John Conyers (D-Mich.) against sexual harassment allegations, David A. Clarke, the former sheriff of Milwaukee County, said Conyers is "not an icon," and that his policies and those of the Congressional Black Caucus have "decimated the black community."
Clarke, a conservative but long-time Democratic Party member, tweeted his comments in reference to a commentary he wrote defending school choice and fatherhood to help young people across the country and in reference to Pelosi, who had described Conyers as an "icon in our country" who has "done a great deal to protect women."
Conyers currently is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee because of sexual harassment allegations.
