Ukraine's Poroshenko Calls On Russia To 'Repent' For Holodomor

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called on Russia to recognize the famine that killed millions of people in Ukraine under Soviet dictator Josef Stalin as genocide, "or at least repent for it."

Poroshenko made the call at an event in central Kyiv on November 25, the official Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holodomor.

He also said that "the time has come" for Ukraine to adopt legislation against denying the genocide.

The problem with this call is that Russia was also captive to the inhuman Soviet regime.  Stalin, who organized the Holodomor was not a Russian, but a Georgian.  Yes the "muscle" for the Holodomor was mostly provided by Russians, but the Soviet government also slaughtered Russian peasants, under Lenin often using Latvian riflemen as "muscle", or sometimes poison gas.  Should Latvia "repent"?  Georgia atone for Stalin?

The handwriting was on the wall back in 2000 when Putin did NOT attend the historic canonization of the Romanovs as martyr/saints in Moscow's newly rebuilt Church of Christ the Savior that Stalin ordered destroyed in the 1930s.  Stalin also intended to destroy iconic St Basils.

Today Putin openly glorifies Stalin's red army that raped and murdered its way across Europe via Putin's revival of an annual Stalinist military parade.  Putin's Stalinist 'cult of the great victory' is the real state religion of Putin's Russia.
