In an interview with ABC News, Melanie Sloan, a lawyer who worked with Michigan Rep. John Conyers on the House Judiciary Committee, says the congressman was “increasingly abusive” to her and often berated her loudly in public. She also says on one occasion she “walked into his office having been called up to brief him on something and he was walking around in his underwear.”

Hahahaha.....sounds like he actually wanted a ‘debriefing.’
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Aaaand...nothing has changed since that story was written in 1989.

That's right.  It's interesting to note the events of that story happened during McStain's first term as Senator.  He's been corrupt from the get-go.  It's also noteworthy he was the only Republican member of the "Keating Five."  He has always associated himself with Democrats more than with Republicans, even back in Reagan's day.

That said, remember when reading the article it's from The New Times, an extremely liberal weekly.  It's the kind of newspaper that's free at all the convenience stores, supported by the ads for massage parlors and escort services.  You know, @Frank Cannon's type of reading material.

Of course none of those allegations will be directed at the women in positions of power, lord knows that only men can be sexual harassers.

And let's not forget the sort of woman it takes to chase after men with power - There are just desserts in there somewhere.

It is also interesting to note that the POS is still serving in the Senate today!  Doesn't say much for the judgement of those who continue to elect him .
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Sadly, true.  He does it with the votes of Democrats.  They cross over and vote for him in the primaries, then vote for him in the General.  Our Primary system in AZ needs fixing, and nobody in the State Legislature has the guts to make the stand required.  The Dems scream "Disenfranched Independent voters!" and the GOP all run for the hills.

Most of the "non-partisan" (Independent) voters are Democrats.  Additionally, a lot of Republicans are ignorant about the man, and won't look past the status of "War Hero."  Donald Trump took most of the heat he got in the Primaries last year when he questioned that status.

"REED ACKNOWLEDGES THAT WHILE THESE ALLEGATIONS ARE SERIOUS, THEY ARE SIMPLY ALLEGATIONS."

With a $27,000 payout is hush money tied to them.

Better believe there will be more unsubstantiated 'ALLEGATIONS' coming from the likes of 'Breezing around the office waiting for someone he called in to show up wearing just his BVDs, Conyers.
My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

@Bigun

The truth is he was never really elected. He married into an Arizona organized crime/protected family, and because of that and his status as a "war hero",he was basically appointed to that position for life. Is it really an election when there is no real opponent?

We might as well be 18th century royalty or Soviets for all the real choices we have.

I put one in.  Does it show up in the index page?

Yup!  I don't think that was the original title.

@Oceander  I faked it, just to get something in the subject line on the index page.  It worked.  BTW, CL, I found the pizza you left for us in The Lounge, thanks!  Gonna be a long couple of days....

The bad thing is there are many untitled articles going back to, at least 2013... so this is doing this to a whole lot of articles. Oh well.

Since this seems to be a resurrected thread now,John Conyers is NOT going anywhere unless the DNC gives him a YUGE cash bailout. He is black,he is Dim,and he is connected to both the organized crime organization known as the NAACP (or as I call them,The Tan Klan).

Conyers could rape, then kill and eat a white infant on live tv and not be kicked out of office because as they used to say in the old Tarzan movies,"the natives would be getting restless".

Some people really are "more equal" than other people in 21st Century 'murika.

All this tells me is he’s been aware of bad conduct for a long time and is OK with it.

Wouldn't he be considered "an accessory after the fact" ??

JOE BARTON IS A REPUBLIAN
and his nude picture of his big belly with his penis blocked out is disgusting.  He lives not far from me, in the greater Dallas area.

Both parties have men doing this.

Look, when a man runs for office, he is surrounded by women political workers.  The men are tempted by the women and the women are tempted by a man in power who can give jobs, maybe even going to Washington with him or getting a job in the county if it is a county office.  These things are going to happen unless the people involved have a strong moral base inside them.

When I was working in politics I saw this happen over and over.  One family was almost broken up in one case when the "affair" became known and there were five children in one family - luckily, the family stayed together.

These revelations of affairs are going to keep going for a while, then they will go underground as before but it won't stop ever since men are men and women are women.
