Tribune reader’s poll: Moore leads Jones for U.S. Senate seat

When asked who participants would vote for in Alabama’s U.S. Senate race, 58.5 percent chose Moore over Jones with 35 percent. Less than 4 percent said they would not vote and less than 2 percent said they would write in a candidate.

Asked if they were affiliated with a political party, 46.5 percent of participants identified as Republican, 33 percent said they were independent, and 22 percent said Democrat.

Pollsters annoy people just as much as telemarketers - if not more.  I doubt Jones finishes within the MOE of the bigger named ones.

It's been a while since I've been polled but the few times I agreed to take one, it was very annoying.  They have a lot of questions not just one.  Instead of just asking you who you would vote for they go on and on until you scream or hang up.

But how do they even poll people now?  Everyone has cell phones.

Probably from people with phone bundle packages from their cable company or ISP.

The last time I participated in any type of survey was in 2000 for Arbitron.  They paid me to keep a log of my radio listening habits for one week.  That was easy, because I only listened to 2 stations in my area, but they called every day to remind me about filling it out and sending it in.  Wasn’t worth the hassle.

Believe me when I tell you that they know exactly who to call at what hour of the day to get the result they are after.  They are generally worthless and becoming more so by the day!
