What Republicans stand for
As the party flounders because its leaders still have not recovered from the 2016 election. Just like the Democrats, Republican leaders cannot believe that we really elected Trump president.

The Republican rank-and-file need to fill the void, and re-set the party's principles.

My proposal is simple.

Republicans should stand up for the individual, which means they should stand for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

@mystery-ak

Years ago when I was working in politics, I used that phrase many times - that Republicans stood for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Consider that - life (in all its forms, including unborn babies), liberty (keep govn. small and out of our business), pursuit of happiness (opportunity to use our individual skills the way we want to achieve happiness).

I thought the Republican Party could use that simple phrase as their motto.  I used it for our party in our county.

What I stand for is freedom.

What I stand for is individual rights and responsibility.

What I stand for is a properly-construed government, whose sole legitimate business
---other than protecting us from predators at home (real predators, not mere vicemongers) and
enemies actual and provably imminent from abroad---is staying the hell out of your
business, my business, everyone's business, until or unless one would obstruct or abrogate
another's equivalent rights . . . not what we have now and have had for way too long, an improperly-
consecrated State that makes its business every damn last inch of your business and my business
whether it is competent or constitutionally sanctioned to do so.

Democrats stand for nothing of the sort. Republicans tend to forget those things once elections are
finished.

Great words, but not even conservatism stands for anything these days.

Just call the Chamber of Commerce, that's what the Pubbies stand for.

The GOP tax reform plan is cutting taxes for the Chamber of Commerce and K Street, paid for by Main Street.

I already know my taxes are going up, thanks to eliminating the personal exemptions. I'll probably change my payment patterns on property taxes in an attempt to exceed the standard deduction every other year, if only by a couple grand.

What Congressional democrat-communists stand for:
Take the money and run.

What [too many] Congressional Republicans stand for:
Take the money and run.
