Sen. Bob Menendez warns opponents after mistrial: 'I won't forget'
by Steven Nelson | Nov 16, 2017, 3:40 PM

New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez said Thursday he would not forget those seeking to benefit from his downfall after his federal trial for allegedly taking bribes ended in a mistrial.

"To those who were digging my political grave so that they could jump into my seat, I know who you are and I won't forget you," the Democrat said at a press conference.

During his remarks to reporters, Menendez thanked supporters and appeared to suggest the trial was motivated by his ethnicity.

"Certain elements of the FBI and of our state cannot understand or even worse accept that a Latino kid from Union City can grow up to be a United States senator and be honest," he said.

The problem with prosecuting a democrat on the federal level..is that the trial is held in DC.  A change of venue is needed. Any prosecution of a politician or federal agent should be held in a randomly selected zip code.

The Menendez trial was held in Newark NJ before a federal judge.

Thanks for the info. Not that it changes the conception of democrats being tried by democrats. In the very center of corruption and regressive/democrat power.

A federal judge.. who two democrats in a very corrupt democrat/regressive State had to return two blue slips before being seated.... right... a regressive/democrat judge, no matter who appointed.

Point being, these trials cannot always be held in corrupt democrat/regressive areas.

What scares me is the fact several family members and neighbors want to vote for him if he runs for reelection next year.

Best idea I've heard in ages!
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Not yet decided.  I can't imagine them just letting it drop at this point.

At this point NOTHING would surprise me!  Especially if the "Justice" department is involved!

Can anyone say "Banana Republic"?
