Repeating as to what the lawyer guest on Newsmax said, I think one has to at least, entertain the notion, that if Moore were elected, it could reflect very badly on the rest of the party and cause it harm. I'm not sure if this is so. Possibly.
The party has already reflected badly upon itself. It didn't get the guy the GOPe wanted. The voters in Alabama spoke, and elected someone else, despite the GOP pumping 10 million into his opponent's coffers. How dare they!
Regardless of who ginned up the allegations against Moore, the Mavens of the GOP purt'near busted a gut to be the first in line to denounce a guy over an allegation of a 40 year old crime, padded out with non-crimes and hyperbole, and taken out of temporal and cultural contest.
Nah, there may be the proverbial bullet hole in the elephant's foot, but the party leadership put it there.
