Texas church is painted white and empty chairs are placed where each of the 26 victims were sitting as it opens for the first time since the massacre
The temporary memorial opened on Sunday inside the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs
It came exactly a week after a gunman killed 26 worshipers in the worst mass shooting in Texas' history
The inside of the church has been transformed with its walls, floor and pulpit painted completely white
Broken windows and ceiling tiles have been replaced, bullet holes filled and church pews removed
All that remains is 26 empty white chairs that have each been inscribed in gold with the name of the victims
The chairs have also been arranged in the spots where the victims were sitting during the Sunday service
