Former District of Columbia Marion Barry who overcame a disgraceful scandal after he was busted smoking crack cocaine with a hooker is about to get his own special place in Washington history.

The D.C. City Council is prepared to honor the city’s iconic hero with an eight-foot-tall statue in front of the John A. Wilson District Building where the city council and mayor’s office are housed.
