Saudi Arabia says Lebanon declares war, deepening crisis

Saudi Arabia accused Lebanon on Monday of declaring war against it because of aggression by the Iran-backed Lebanese Shi‘ite group Hezbollah, a dramatic escalation of a crisis threatening to destabilize the tiny Arab country.Lebanon has been thrust to the center of regional rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran since the Saudi-allied Lebanese politician Saad al-Hariri quit as prime minister on Saturday, blaming Iran and Hezbollah in his resignation speech.

Syria, Jordan, and Israel are between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.  It’d have to be a wider regional conflict if they actually went to war.  Both Syria and Lebanon are Iranian puppet states.  Things could really get hot.

Definitely.  But there could actually be some quiet cooperation between SA and Israel, where Saudis provide some support.

This is definitely Saudi Arabia making a move to keep Iran's proxy expansion in check.
