Could North Korea's 4,300 Tanks Crush America in a War?
« on: November 06, 2017, 05:39:02 am »
Dave Majumdar

Though technologically backwards for the most part—in the event of war—the North Koreans could inflict severe damage to South Korea and the U.S. forces stationed on the peninsula.

As Washington ratchets up the pressure on North Korea—or potentially launches a preemptive strike—the Kim regime in Pyongyang has options to strike back hard at the United States and South Korea using purely conventional means.

NK has something very powerful that gives their people inner strength and resolve.
Something their government actively promotes to keep them strong and resolute.

Ironically,  it is something the USA and all western governments have intentionally
destroyed in their own lands... thus weakening their people.

No punishment, in my opinion, is too great, for the man who can build his greatness upon his country's ruin~  George Washington

Saddam's armor was going kick the US's rear too.
If all I want is a warm feeling, I should just wet my pants.

Yes. This isn't 1944 France or the Ukraine.
In treeless hilly Korea, tanks are targets

In 1950, both sides learned very quickly that Korean terrain is not conducive to armored warfare.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Everyone seems to be just going from the headline, not addressing the rest of the story.

As for infiltrators, I think they will be bothersome but not decisive.

I will depend on two things.  How fiercely the ROK Army fights a delaying action and if they decide to launch an invasion during the time when our brigades we now rotate over there every 9 months are swapping out or whether they are up to speed at the time of the attack.

They already have enough artillery up on the DMZ to range Seoul and a little farther south of the capital.  They might not have enough to crush us completely before we push them back...but they will give us a very badly bloodied nose before they are stopped.

The fact of the matter is between Clinton and Obama our ability to keep the Norks in check even with all their current sabre rattling has been severly compromised.
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.
