An officer who developed an artillery-guidance app used by the Ukrainian military in its fight against Moscow-backed separatists was among 545 members of Ukraine's political and military elite targeted by a hacking group with alleged links to Russian security services, according to an investigation by the Associated Press.
The hacking group -- known as "Fancy Bear," among other aliases -- has been accused of responsibility for cyberattacks on various Western government and security organizations, as well as the U.S. Democratic Party ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
