Military families outraged Bergdahl won’t serve time

Family members of slain Bay State soldiers blasted a judge’s ruling that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will serve no prison time after deserting his unit in 2009, leading to the injury of numerous soldiers as they searched for him while the Taliban held him prisoner for five years.
“For him to get no time, I cannot comprehend that. He put his comrades not only in jeopardy but they were wounded in action because his actions were deliberate,” said Sudbury resident Steve Milley, whose 23-year-old son Scott was killed by insurgents in Afghanistan in 2010.
