Paul Manafort's attorneys say he is not a flight risk, but judge resists lifting house arrest right away
by Diana Stancy Correll | Nov 2, 2017, 5:32 PM

A federal judge refused to immediately release former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort from house arrest on Thursday, saying she would revisit the request on Monday.

Manafort has been prohibited from leaving his house since the beginning of the week, except for medical or religious reasons, or to meet his attorneys or appear in court. The federal judge, Amy Berman Jackson, said Thursday that he also would be permitted to attend children's sports events on the weekend, although he would be monitored by GPS.

Attorneys representing Manafort argued Thursday he shouldn’t be under house arrest and that he is not inclined to flee the country, given his $10 million unsecured bond and that he is widely recognized.

The impression the left desires is that Manafort look like a mass murdering drug kingpin.

Wouldn't help if the judge let him walk around like your garden variety tax cheat, aka member of congress, would it?
