Congressman Says Jeff Sessions Has Recused Himself on Uranium One Deal

Attorney General Jeff Sessions told a small group of lawmakers in late September he was recused from appointing a special counsel to look into potential corruption surrounding the Uranium One deal and Fusion GPS’s work on the Trump dossier, according to one of the lawmakers present.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told Breitbart News on Wednesday that he and other House Judiciary Committee Republicans had met with Sessions at the Justice Department on September 28 in advance of an upcoming committee hearing with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein later this month.

The issue of Russia wasn’t exactly a secret through the campaign and in the cabinet selection president-elect phase.  Knowing he would feel conflicted, Sessions never should have accepted the appointment.  Sessions either lied or Trump’s people failed to ask the right questions.

It's true and if he had any honor he would resign. He is the plug that needs to be
pulled to drain the swamp. But before he resigns he should fire Rosenstein.

The President would be met with screams of "obstruction" if he takes any action against Sessions or Rosenstein.  He must first build the case against them with the American people.

The Congress, including many Republicans, have turned the Justice Department into a free agent, accountable to no one but the deep state.

The leftists will scream regardless, but I do not think congress could build public support to punish Trump for firing a DOJ employee of his who's name they do not associate with the "investigation".

Anyway, Trump does need to get out there more and start forcing the media to publically address U1 with his tweets.

Sessions was a fine legislator on immigration issues and I’m sure that’s why, in addition to his early and strong support of Trump, the president rewarded him with the AG appointment. But, that was clearly a forced error, Sessions sucks at AG.

Trump needs to fix his mistake.

No no no no no!  We have it on good authority here that "tweets"  are "Unpresidential",   and they damage the dignity of the office!   


That they are effective is no excuse for ignoring the proper level of propriety!
