I really wish ace conservative Mo Brooks would have won. One can look him up and he's pretty solid, I think and that is whom I would have vote in that first election.
@TomSeaI somewhat agree.... but Roy was rock solid on gun rights... Mo wobbled a few times (example: wanting to give Senators rights the average citizen would not have)... Luther was just a snake in the grass.
Actually Luther Strange also had a pretty solid scorecard rating for what little time he spent in Washington (I think higher than Mo Brooks)... But being from Alabama, that was not the whole of the story. Strange got his promotion on the back of a crooked governor (Bentley), that basically got a handshake with Big Luther to try and let him off the hook for what he did. Luther even tried to delay the investigation into Bentley. Luther also got the crooked NRA backing, but the state grassroots gun folks didn't like Luther one bit. Strange was bad to try to screw over gun rights by his working with the Alabama sheriffs (who got money via conceal carry permits) to provide gun free zones that were ruled unconstitutional. The biggest gun rights group in the state (BamaCarry) did a poll and it was 4 to 1 against all the others. Roy Moore made sure to affirm his belief in constitutional carry directly to the state gun groups, Luther proved with his actions as AG that he was not a friend of gun rights.
I may of saved the poll.. let me see if I can find it.
What I am saying is a liberty vote card for a few months does not tell the whole story. You had to live in state to know exactly why Mo and Luther was not liked.
I could live for Mo (glad to still have him in office), Luther was an absolute no go. Love me some Roy Moore.
