Citing "potentially irreversible harm to our Nation's security," President Trump delayed the release of hundreds of files related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, while the National Archives released 2,981 documents in accordance with the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, which required that all assassination records be fully disclosed and available no later than 25 years after the enactment of the act.
According to the White House, the FBI and CIA made numerous requests to withhold some of the files, in violation of the 1992 law. Adding to the confusion, the decision comes just one day after President Trump tweeted, "The long anticipated release of the #JFKFiles will take place tomorrow. So interesting!" ...
