Report: Soldiers Killed in Niger Had Little to no Combat Experience
(CBS News)

By Joe Crowe    |   Thursday, 26 Oct 2017 09:26 AM

The U.S. soldiers killed in Niger three weeks ago had limited experience in combat, military records released by the Pentagon show, according to CBS News.

Officials in the Pentagon plan to brief the Armed Services Committees in the House and Senate on Thursday about the attack in Niger that led to the four soldiers being killed.

The CBS report said that Sgt. La David Johnson, Staff Sgt. Brian Black, and Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson each had one prior overseas deployment. Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright did not have any prior overseas deployments.

All the soldiers had completed pre-mission training.
