Don't be silly.  Shakespeare is not high-brow.

No, but that 12-step chit you were posting about was.  Mine was just Macbeth.

I know it sounds good on paper, but she isn't for lightweights. She has guns and knows how to use them for crying out loud!

You're talking wild turkeys, right?  The domestic ones can't fly, to my knowledge.  Worse, they can't rut either.  Talk about one shitty life.
It's okay, they are too stupid to know what they are missing.

A Festival of Cruelty

I hate these titles that advertise one thing and then have nothing to do with it. This is what I expected....

And this is what I got.....

Yes they can, unless their wings have been clipped since their last molt. And of course they can run - That's why they tie their legs.

Domestic turkeys raised free range are no different than wild, except that they go sleep in a coop at night.

The ones I raised (free range before we knew what free range was) couldn't fly.  They could eat and that was about it.

Well,, they sure do here - not well, mind you, like any turkey, but well enough to get up into the trees to roost... Oh, maybe that's the difference - trees   :tongue2:

We've got trees.  Big ones.  I live in a little forest.  If I still had photobucket, I'd post you a picture to prove it.

That's because the ones that can't fly up into trees to roost were coyote bait a long time ago.

I dunno what to tell you - Maybe it is predator pressure like @Smokin Joe  said, maybe it is a difference in selection in breeds here vs there... but turkeys are not uncommon here, domestic or wild, and providing that they are range birds, there isn't much different. It is not uncommon to see a domestic turkey a story or two up in the pines, roosted just like a wild one.

I can't believe it took 7 days and 43 posts for someone to mention WKRP and/or Les Nessman...   :thud:

Yes, but when it happened it was done right, complete with a YouTube.

Kudos, @Suppressed!
