Despite denials, Baltimore jail has received many ICE detainer requests

Posted at 5:31 pm on October 21, 2017

There’s been a very inconsistent message coming out of the state of Maryland in general and the City of Baltimore in particular when it comes to the question of cooperation with federal immigration officials and the detention of illegal aliens. Governor Hogan’s office has appeared to go back and forth on whether or not ICE cooperation was mandatory, discouraged or optional. Meanwhile, the Baltimore City jail (which is actually run by the state) has been even more vague in their answers.

Here's a good place to "make a stand".

We know that this particular agency (a city jail) is violating immigration law.

OK -- send in ICE agents, backed by armed federal marshals, backed up by U.S. troops if necessary.

March in and clean that place up.
Offer the warden of that jail a choice: cooperate, or be arrested.

If he won't cooperate, arrest him and march him out with the cameras recording.

And then repeat with his "next-in-line", as much as necessary.

Sooner or later, someone will get the message!
