France urges US Congress not to cancel Iran nuclear deal
The Local/France, Oct 15, 2017

France on Saturday urged the US Congress not to rip up the Iran nuclear deal, after President Donald Trump decertified Iran's compliance with the 2015 agreement.

"We strongly hope that Congress, which is now responsible for a possible rupture, does not jeopardise the deal," French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in an interview with AFP.

If we denounce a deal that has been respected, it will set a dangerous precedent," particularly in the context of negotiations with North Korea, Le Drian said, echoing other signatories of the Iran deal Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia.

Total Signs Deal With Iran, Exposing It to Big Risks and Rewards
NY Times, Jul 3, 2017, Stanley Reed

Patrick Pouyanné, the chairman and chief executive of the French energy giant Total, worried for months that a breakthrough deal to invest in Iran might not be finalized.  He fretted in particular that the Trump administration would try to scrap the 2015 international agreement over Tehran’s nuclear program.

“If one party is going out of the treaty, then we will not be able to invest,” he said in an interview in February.

On Monday, though, Mr. Pouyanné was comfortable enough with the risks to sign an agreement in Tehran committing his company to lead a natural gas project in the Persian Gulf that could open Iran’s huge petroleum reserves to international players.

Under the terms of the deal, Total will invest $1 billion in the first phase of development of part of the South Pars gas field. It will form a partnership with the China National Petroleum Corporation and the Iranian company Petropars.

“This is the one that everyone has been waiting for,” Homayoun Falakshahi, an analyst at the energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie, said of the announcement. “This deal very much sets the example.”

They keep referring to this as a treaty, but wasn't it actually an Executive Agreement and not a Treaty? And as such doesn't that put it in Trumps power to end it just as Bamarang empowered it?

Do I understand correctly, that Trump has (properly) pushed the issue into the US Senate, which according to our Constitution, should ratify treaties?

Somewhat like he has pushed Obamacare subsidies into the House, which according to our Constitution, should originate spending bills?

Leave it to France, to capitulate with Iran, and criticize tough US positions. They have been so effective, defending the West. Not

@Right_in_Virginia

Each passing day, and each passing topic, prove that Trump's fervent detractors are unhinged.

But alas, a group of mental health professionals, otherwise called "Psychologists," marched through the streets of (guess where?) New York City. They call for the dismissal of Trump, as crazy.

For support, many of the psychologist were accompanied by their own analysts, in case they are "triggered" by any "micro-aggressions."
