Boy Scouts Will Admit Girls, Allow Them to Earn Eagle Scout Rank

The Boy Scouts of America announced Wednesday that girls will soon be allowed to become Cub Scouts and to earn the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, the organization’s highest honor.

"We believe it is critical to evolve how our programs meet the needs of families interested in positive and lifelong experiences for their children," said Michael Surbaugh, chief executive of the Boy Scouts.

I was a boy scout for almost 5 years. There was something special about getting out there with all the guys and doing guy things separate from the women that are involved in just about every other aspect of our lives. It wasn't sexist I don't feel. It was just, I don't know. It won't be the same like this.

Well, it isn't the same now.  They allow perverts to join and be scoutmasters.

If I had a son, I would not let him join the Boy Scouts.

That's right.  Male to male camaraderie is important and different than male to female camaraderie.  There's nothing wrong with that no matter what anyone says.

When the time comes I'll just have to take on the role of scoutmaster and take my boy and his friends out to do all of the cool stuff I got to do in the boy scouts. We can have the same kind of bonding, it'll just take more initiative on my part. Fishing, fire making, path finding, archery and the ability to safely use firearms among other things are all skills my son will have.

It was a conspiracy of sorts enabled by corporate blackmail against the BSA.

The BSA got addicted to the corporate sponsorships, granted board member status to corporate executives who were/are progressives and the rest is history.

The BSA has gone full PC, permitting adult homosexuals to be leaders, permitting transgenders to join, and now this...they'll lose patronage for a number of years and then probably stabilize like scouting in Canada at a fraction of its previous membership, the program may survive but will never be the same.

For those interested, Trail Life USA offers a very similar program founded upon Christian values.  It's not for everyone to be sure, but it's an alternative.

I had to look it up.  There were 3 founders:  William D. Boyce, Ernest Thompson Seton and Daniel Carter Beard
