Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Takes a Stand for the Anthem: ‘If We Are Disrespecting the Flag, Then We Won’t Play. Period’

Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones has had it with anthem protests. Just how tired of it is he? Tired enough that Jones has now publicly said that if his team doesn’t respect the flag, they’re not going to play.

Jones was asked by Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, about two Cowboys players who raised their fists at the end of the anthem. Jones said he did not see the raised fists. But then, Jones made a definitive statement about how he wants to see his team to handle the anthem from now on.

According to Pro Football Talk, Jones said, “If there’s anything that is disrespectful to the flag, then we will not play. OK? Understand? If we are disrespecting the flag, then we won’t play. Period. Period.”

He, the other owners and the NFL have the power to stop this in its tracks.

To date, they have weaseled out of it so as to not hurt the players.

Now, ticket sales are plummeting, ad revenues are down and people are turning off the tv for other entertainment.

The pocketbook speaks, and Jerry is speaking his pocketbook, not any patriotism.

Sad, NFL football has been loved for so long, we had books on it growing up, Frank Merriweather fiction books, football cards besides many of us actually having played it, happy days and now, this latest episode has just offended many of us to no end.

Yeah but...


Now the whole thing, the whole game of football is suddenly suspect. Since you have Black players sabotaging plays against White players on their own team, then what they do with the anthem doesn't matter. They can stand and salute the flag and pray to Jesus during the national anthem, but then they can secretly laugh while they intentionally allow White players on their team to get crushed. Racist Black people cannot be trusted.


The NFL has lost the trust and respect of the American people. Now it is viewed as just a bunch of spoiled 'punks' acting out. It is not a true competition anymore. Now, it is all about a racial/political statement. And that means it is no longer a 'game' or a true fair competition.


How can anyone trust the outcome of anything? How is a 'fist pump' from a Black person any different than giving a Nazi salute?

They are easy to differentiate if you look closely at the hand. One salute has a closed fist. The other salute has an open palm.

It is becoming similar to the WWF, where everything is predetermined and fake. 

Trust is something one cannot earn back easily.
