If it was, there's not much there to connect the dots. He sounds like a smart, rich, angry yet calculating and patient guy who had the ability and means to pull something like this off.
Considering what
is verifiable known about him to this point, it seems if anything as though he
had a particular animus against
musical events. He's said to have targeted another Las Vegas music
event, Lollapalooza in Chicago, and even a music event to be scheduled in Boston's Fenway Park.
Now, I realise people get awfully passionate regarding their music, and likewise about music they despise,
but the music angle is extremely interesting in a sick kind of way.
But then a deranged fan once shot heavy metal guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott to death on stage as his
new band Damageplan was starting a show in a club---the fan said to have blamed Abbott for the demise
of the group that made the guitarist famous, Pantera.
