Trump calls Schumer for help on reviving health care push
By Julia Manchester - 10/06/17 09:38 PM EDT

President Trump called Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Friday to ask for help on reviving health-care legislation.

Trump wanted "to see if the Dems want to do a great HealthCare Bill," Trump said in a tweet confirming the call Saturday morning.

Obamacare will go down in flames leaving a crater hole where healthcare once was. If Republicans can't get together to do something to prevent the cratering then there will be some bipartisan resolution.

All of the blabbering about 'yuge deals' will not change that reality, a reality Trump must face. The ball is in the court of the congressional Republicans.

There are ways of working around the obstructionists other than dealing with that greasy b*stard Schumer. Such as directly lobbying the people who are suffering under the abomination. A PR campaign would net some positive moves in the right direction, after all the GOPe are a cowardly lot.

But for some reason he appears not to be considering that.

The Republicans can't get anything done because their ranks are full of dimocrats who only run as republicans to get elected!

Yes we are.  And in a logical, normal, sane world.... the GOP should have been able to not only turn the disaster of ObamaCare into their majority rule for the next several decades.... but they should have been able to overturn it handily.  Instead, thanks to the RINOs and pretenda-righties in the GOP, they'll be lucky to keep the majority for one term.   The nest of vipers, traitors and sellouts in DC really needed to be cleaned out.  Alas, it was merely a (another) pipe dream of voters.  The GOP will lose to the rats again, and things will go back to Leftism-as-usual next election.  Bank on it.

Tell the nations' voters, the GOP's solution will be when Collins next comes up for reelection, in 2020 ??

They only have to wait for 3 more years ?? Oh wait, she won last time with 68% of Maine's voters.

Maybe it I those dreadful voter. Maine needs "better" voters.

* Or wait until McCain comes up for reelection, in 2022.

   @truth_seeker

It's looking more and more that Collins will run for Governor, since Lepage is term limited, but no doubt Maine will elect another Senator just like her, probably, this time with a D behind their name.  I have much more hope for the McCain/Arizona problem, (he won't make it to 2020) they owe us a solid and will deliver as Alabama just did, this time.

I think you helped make my point; namely that Republicans are still waiting, waiting for that next uncertain event that will enable them to have the magic numbers to get things taken care of Obamacare-wise.

BTW LePage is very unpopular, and Collins is very popular.

So I'll submit it is unlikely Collins would be replaced by a conservative Republican. That leaves it to making deals to gain votes on the Paul/Cruz/Lee axis.

Or with the democrats.

I wasn't trying to refute your points @truth_seeker as I think they make a hell of a lot of sense. Thanks for posting.

With one exception. We have a Republican President who will not only deal with the Left to "do something" so he can have a "WIN", but in whom I have no faith that he will adhere to any fundamental Conservative principles, and that includes not messing with the RKBA.

You are so right!

I am expecting the Pubs to hold on in 2018, but they will not do well and will move further to the left. I think the Pubs lose the Senate in 2020 and maybe the House. If amnesty goes through you can bet the Rats will control the Senate and House by 2022 and the Presidency in 2024. Once the Rats are back in control you can bet they will increase the govt control over our lives dramatically.

The future is bleak, thanks to the Pubs having no party discipline and failing to fulfill the biggest campaign promises they've made.

Schumer doesn't feel the Trump Love?

According to Schumer today:

Quote
“The president wanted to make another run at repeal and replace and I told the president that’s off the table,” Schumer said in a statement on his call with Trump on Friday, news of which the president confirmed in a tweet.

“If he wants to work together to improve the existing health care system, we Democrats are open to his suggestions. A good place to start might be the Alexander-Murray negotiations that would stabilize the system and lower costs,” Schumer added.

Add to that his apparent unconcern with the national debt .... and that he seemingly thinks more like a tax and spend liberal when it comes to fiscal responsibility.....

and you have a recipe for disaster, even 'with' a GOP majority control.   Oh sure.... we may be hurtling towards that chasm a bit slower now.... but we're still headed in that direction....

and the chasm gets exponentially deeper as time goes on.

It is historically displayed behaviour. Whatever it takes to get to a point he can declare a "win", including abandoning the original objectives or even retrograde motion. Twelve dimensional chess and all that.  **nononono*
