Gorsuch’s grilling draws laughs in Supreme Court deportation case

    Oct 2, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Department of Justice and a lawyer representing an immigrant from the Philippines faced off in front of the Supreme Court Monday as the newest justice on the bench, Neil Gorsuch, grilled them with such pointed questions that the audience started laughing.

In the second case of the term, the justices will have to decide whether to keep or do away with a criminal law that is responsible for the deportation of thousands of immigrants every year. Immigrants rights groups and defense attorneys argue it’s too vague. The Department of Justice, on the other hand, says it’s just fine.

I"m scarcely an expert on the Supreme Court and have no answer to the question I have.  So anyone who thinks they know please let  me know.  Would the court allow an illegal alien to plead a case before them?

WHo gives a crap whether a crime committed by a green card holder is violent or not?

Its total madness to even debate whether a 'guest' who commits a crime in the host country should be deported.

Sounds like the lawyers are trying to get the nose under the tent.
