Bob Corker stands by criticisms of Trump as incompetent

Sen. Bob Corker stands by his criticisms of President Trump in the wake of the summer's violence in Charlottesville, Va., between white supremacists and protesters.

The Republican from Tennessee told NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday he met with the president last month to discuss the comments.

"I said, ‘Mr. President, I stand by what I said,'" Corker said.

Trump remarked at the meeting, "'You called me incompetent,'" Corker recalled.

"I said, ‘Mr. President.' I knew it was coming. (I told him) 'Here's what I said and I stand by those comments.'"
